Report of the Secretary-General on combating sexual exploitation and abuse

On 23 June 2016, the Report of the Secretary-General on combating sexual exploitation and abuse (A/71/97) provided an update on the progress made in the implementation of measures and initiatives under way and the recommendations made by the External Independent Review Panel to review and assess the response of the United Nations to recent allegations of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse, including in the Central African Republic. The report also touched upon a broad range of systemic issues related to how the United Nations responds to serious information on allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse. The report also addressed other serious, related crimes perpetrated by members of foreign military forces not under United Nations command in the Central African Republic.
