Report of the Secretary-General includes information on the nationality of implicated uniformed personnel

Text

The Report of the Secretary-General on Special measures for the protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (A/70/729), published in February 2016, provided updates on the status of implementing the enhanced programme of action and its over 40 measures aimed at strengthening the response of the United Nations to allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse, as outlined in his previous report. New measures were introduced, and for the first time, the report included information on the nationality of military and police personnel implicated in credible allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse.

In conjunction with the launch of the Secretary-General’s report, the website of the Conduct and Discipline Unit was also upgraded to include a table of allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse. The table is updated in near real-time with information on new allegations and updates on the status of already recorded allegations.
