Training for members of Immediate Response Teams

Text

In August 2016, the United Nations Stabilization Mission In Haiti (MINUSTAH) hosted a five-day training of the “First Immediate Response Team (IRT) Foundation Course”. The training was organized in collaboration with the Department of Field Support (DFS), the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS), and the Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM). The training aimed to equip MINUSTAH’s appointed IRT members with knowledge and practical capacity to immediately deploy to respond to allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse. It was also aimed at reinforcing IRT capacity on collection and preserving of material evidence, interview of victims and alleged perpetrators, and specific technics and procedures of DNA sample collection. A training of the IRT in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) had previously taken place in April 2016.
